Interpersonal Process Groups

Group therapy is one of the most powerful — and most underutilized — forms of psychological treatment. When it works, it works because the very thing most people struggle with — being in relationship with others — becomes the medium of change itself.

Unlike skills-based or topic-driven groups, process groups focus on here-and-now interactions. Attention is given to emotional experience, implicit communication, moments of connection/distance, and the ways familiar relational patterns emerge. The Interpersonal Process Group offer a unique opportunity to explore emotional and relational patterns as they unfold in real time with others.

My approach to group work is informed by modern psychoanalytic theory, relational psychotherapy, and a foundation in mindfulness-based awareness.

Process groups may be especially helpful for individuals who:

  • Want to experience themselves differently in relationship

  • Struggle with social anxiety and feeling known or understood by others.

  • Are curious about how they impact and are impacted by people

  • Seek depth, honesty, and meaningful engagement

Groups are ongoing and require a commitment to regular attendance. A preliminary individual consultation is required to assess fit and readiness.
